COURTNEY L. KAY, OF COUNSEL

Courtney L. Kay is a member of the firm’s Litigation Department. Courtney is an experienced commercial real estate and business litigation attorney who has significant experience in cases ranging from real property disputes, partnership disputes, commercial contracts, elder abuse, and other commercial matters.

Before joining Sklar Kirsh in 2019, Courtney served as an Associate Attorney to counsel at DeCastro, West, Chodorow, Mendler & Glickfield, Inc.

Born and raised in Santa Monica, Courtney attended elementary school at the Mirman School for the Gifted and high school at The Brentwood School. Courtney received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Pennsylvania, where she graduated magna cum laude.  Following college, Courtney returned to Los Angeles for law school at Loyola Law School, where she earned her law degree. Courtney has been licensed to practice law in the state of California since 2008.

Courtney is active in the Los Angeles community – serving on several boards and committees for the Jewish Federation, University of Pennsylvania Alumni Association, The Brentwood School Alumni Association, and The First School.

Courtney was an accomplished tennis player, playing as the #1 singles female player for The Brentwood School and in the Top 50 USTA Southern California.

She is the proud mother of Clementine and Maverick.
